Nyx, named after the goddess of the night, takes the viewer on the psychedelic journey of the young Kurd Furat. After "only two beers" inexplicably intoxicated, his nightly ride home by subway turns into a trip through the underworld. The film's setting are the stations of the Berlin subway line U7, designed by Rainer Rümmler between 1971 and 1984, which runs between Neukölln and Kreuzberg - the residential areas of Turkish immigrants - and Spandau. Its orna-mental architecture with numerous Art Deco and Oriental-style details takes Furat in a largely empty state past Siemensstadt at night.
